Appraises the potentialities for producing furniture suitable for an American market in terms of materials available, supply of qualified administrators and trained labor, and current patterns of production in Bangkok and Chiangmai. The teak market in Europe is discussed. Recommendations are made for further exploration of American cooperation with the Thai Plywood Corporation in both production and marketing of Thai-made furniture. Furniture making in Japan, Hong Kong, India, and Scandinavia is compared with American standards and preferences. [TAIC]
