This note was prepared by the UNCTAD secretariat for the third session of the Commission. In its substantive session of 1994, the Economic and Social Council requested the Commission on Science and Technology for Development to maximize coordination in undertaking inter-sessional studies on specific issues by actively approaching relevant United Nations organs and agencies, as well as other multilateral organizations. This brief note explains how the Commission responded to this request during the 1995-1997 inter-sessional period
