ผ่านพ้นไปอย่างน่าประทับใจเป็นปีที่สอง สำหรับโครงการ The Chula-Global Library Visiting Fellowship ที่เปิดโอกาสให้ชาวสำนักงานวิทยทรัพยากร ได้แลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้ และทำงานร่วมกับผู้เชี่ยวชาญระดับสากล เพื่อส่งเสริมความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศและร่วมกันพัฒนาวิชาชีพด้านบรรณารักษศาสตร์ให้เข้มแข็งยิ่งขึ้น

ก่อนที่จะจบการปฏิบัติงานตลอด 2 เดือนที่ผ่านมา ดร.เล่อ หยาง (Le Yang, Ph.D.) ผู้รับทุนโครงการฯ ประจำปี 2026 จาก University of Oregon Libraries ได้ถ่ายทอดประสบการณ์และสรุปผลการทำงานในกิจกรรมแบ่งปันองค์ความรู้ Sharing the Fellowship Journey with Dr. Le Yang โดยมีคณะผู้บริหารและเจ้าหน้าที่สำนักงานวิทยทรัพยากรร่วมเข้ารับฟังเมื่อวันที่ 3 สิงหาคมที่ผ่านมา ณ ห้องประชุม 2 ชั้น 7 สำนักงานวิทยทรัพยากร

โดยภาพรวมของผลงานในครั้งนี้ ดร.หยาง ได้ร่วมศึกษาและประเมินระบบดิจิทัลซึ่งพัฒนาขึ้นโดยสำนักงานวิทยทรัพยากร ทั้งแพลตฟอร์มการค้นหาและเข้าถึงข้อมูลดิจิทัล Chula DigiVerse และระบบสงวนรักษาดิจิทัล Chula AMATA พร้อมทั้งให้คำแนะนำเชิงกลยุทธ์ในการยกระดับโครงสร้างพื้นฐานและการจัดการเครือข่ายระบบจัดเก็บข้อมูลจากรูปแบบเซิร์ฟเวอร์สู่ระบบ Cloud
“สิ่งที่ประทับใจผมมากที่สุด คือพวกคุณที่หอสมุดกลาง จุฬาฯ ได้พัฒนาระบบสงวนรักษาดิจิทัลที่ชื่อว่า AMATA รวมถึงระบบ Chula DigiVerse ซึ่งสะท้อนให้เห็นถึงศักยภาพของห้องสมุดในการพัฒนาเทคโนโลยีและบริการดิจิทัลของตนเอง...งานสงวนรักษาทรัพยากสรสารสนเทศดิจิทัลเป็นภารกิจสำคัญของห้องสมุด และบุคลากรห้องสมุดควรมีความรู้และทักษะที่จำเป็นในการดำเนินงานด้านนี้”

งานสำคัญอีกส่วนที่ ดร.หยาง ศึกษาร่วมกับทีมสำนักงานวิทยทรัพยากร คือ งานการจัดการข้อมูลวิจัย (Research Data Management-RDM) โดยเขาได้แนะแนวทางการวางบทบาทของห้องสมุดในฐานะศูนย์กลางข้อมูลวิจัย พัฒนาคลังข้อมูลวิจัยและคลังปัญญาของสถาบัน ซึ่งจะส่งผลต่อการเพิ่มอันดับ (ranking) ของมหาวิทยาลัย ทั้งยังเสนอแนะปรับแนวคิดจากการจัดการข้อมูลวิจัยแบบเดิมไปสู่การเป็น University Data Enablement หรือการเพิ่มศักยภาพข้อมูลของมหาวิทยาลัย รวมข้อมูลเป็นปึกแผ่นมั่นคงและสามารถเข้าถึงได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ
นอกจากนี้ เขายังมองถึงความร่วมมือในอนาคต ทั้งโครงการวิจัยร่วม การแลกเปลี่ยนบุคลากร และการจัด Workshop เพื่อพัฒนาทักษะวิชาชีพอย่างต่อเนื่อง

บทสรุปของการทำงานตลอด 2 เดือนนี้ตอกย้ำให้เห็นว่า ความเข้มแข็งทางวิชาชีพนั้นเกิดจากการที่เราได้ร่วมมือกัน ไม่ว่าเราจะมาจากที่ไหน หรือมีวัฒนธรรมที่แตกต่างกันอย่างไร เพราะเป้าหมายร่วมกันของเราคือการสร้างสรรค์การเรียนรู้ที่ไร้พรมแดน

**BANGKOK** – The Office of Academic Resources (OAR) at Chulalongkorn University recently celebrated the successful conclusion of the second year of The Chula-Global Library Visiting Fellowship. This year, the program welcomed Dr. Le Yang from the University of Oregon Libraries, who spent two months collaborating with Chulalongkorn’s library professionals to strengthen international partnerships and advance the field of librarianship.

On August 3, OAR hosted a special knowledge-sharing session titled "Sharing the Fellowship Journey with Dr. Le Yang." During the event, Dr. Yang presented his findings and strategic recommendations to the university's executives and staff, reflecting on his two months of intensive engagement with the university’s digital ecosystem.

Advancing Digital Infrastructure

A primary focus of Dr. Yang’s fellowship was the evaluation of OAR’s in-house developed systems: Chula DigiVerse (a digital discovery and access platform) and Chula AMATA (a digital preservation system). Dr. Yang praised the technical capabilities of the Chula team, noting that the successful development of AMATA and DigiVerse reflects the library's high potential in self-reliant digital innovation. To ensure long-term sustainability, he recommended a strategic transition toward Cloud-based infrastructure and the development of tiered storage solutions.

From Research Data Management to University Data Enablement

In addition to technical systems, Dr. Yang worked closely with the OAR team on Research Data Management (RDM). He proposed that the library position itself as a central "Research Data Hub" to develop institutional repositories that directly contribute to the university’s global ranking. A key recommendation included evolving the traditional RDM concept into "University Data Enablement," a strategy designed to consolidate university data and improve its visibility for global search engines and ranking agencies.

A Future of Borderless Collaboration

The fellowship has paved the way for continued partnership between Chulalongkorn University Library and the University of Oregon Libraries. Future initiatives are expected to include joint research projects, staff exchange programs, and professional development workshops.
Professional strength is born from our collaboration, regardless of where we come from or our cultural differences, the report concluded, emphasizing that the ultimate goal remains the creation of borderless learning for the global community.
