Reviews the state of education prior to the 2010 elections Describes the role of monastic education in maintaining ethic nationality, language, and culture and how the reforms have impacted Myanmar’s higher education. Focuses on the reforms and the restructuring of teacher education and training. Discusses Myanmar’s struggle with ethnic and linguistic diversity and structural challenges in alternative systems run by Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs).

ASEAN Countries in the 21st Century
