2021 GDLN Blended Learning Program: International & National Assessments

CU-GDLN presents the summary of 2021 GDLN Blended Learning Program 2nd session “International & National Assessments” organized by KDIS (GDLN Korea) and lectured by Dr. Jimin Cho, the Vice President of Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation.

Discussed the major issues of implementation of the *international and national education assessment* from the successful experiences of South Korea. Provided South Korea’s research and 'development of national curriculum' operated by Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation (KICE) with brief introduction of other national educational institutions. Demonstrated 'student assessment framework' serving 3 levels of Korea’s administration: international, national, and metropolitan/provincial level with characteristics and assessing paradigms for Korean students’ performance, proficiency, and life satisfaction. Depicted the roles of Korea’s national assessments and *educational achievement in students* that implied the tasks that the students and teachers need to accomplish incorporating with the parents, schools and the government’s assistance to develop the students’ individual performance with provision of a brief insight in *educational policies* on student assessment.
