Presents cinema-spiritualism in Southeast Asia and beyond, ghosts in the 21st century, the trans/local production of Pan-Asian horror, the transcultural potential of Japanese ghosts, variety, community, and horror in Thailand, and analysis of popular ghost movies in Indonesia. Reviews horror films as an extension of Thai supernaturalism, the Khmer witch project, the fearsome, ephemeral ninjas of Timor-Leste. Discusses the supernatural and post-war Thai film, the transnational spectral in Apichatpong’s syndromes and a century and its reception, reception of martial arts movies and television series among young Pencak Silat practitioners in Indonesia, and conversation with the filmmakers from Thailand and Laos.
