Gives a comparative study on merger and acquisition law and regulations in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. Looks at the competition landscape in ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), its impact to Thai businesses, benefits of AEC and trends of merger and acquisition in ASEAN market. Examines concepts, regulations, and practices of merger and acquisition in those countries. Reveals that Thailand has the most rigid merger control among those countries, whereas the rest have more flexible regulations that won’t affect their small and medium businesses. Proposes recommendations to loosen the merger control in Thailand for more competitiveness.
