A Proposed of a Basic School Management Model for Enhancing the National Security over the Provinces on the Border of Thailand has following objectives: 1) to propose the model 2) to develop the guidelines on how to use the model. The methodology used is Mixed Methods; documentary reviewing, personal and focus group interviewing, and using of questionnaires were conducted. Governors of the provinces on the border of Thailand, Directors of the Educational Service Area Office, School Directors, Teachers, School Board Committee Members, and Parents were research informants. The findings were: 1. The System Theory was the core of this model. The highlights of this model were on the new management mission especially designed for enhancing the national security and the enhancing of the importance of the academic administration on the subject of the national security. 2. The model guidelines consisted of 3 parts: 1) The use of the principles of management such as the school-based management and the principles of good governance. 2) The processes of how to use the model were set into 5 steps as follows: studying and preparing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and summarizing; 3) The success of the model depended on the cooperative work of these 3 levels of government sectors — the Ministry level, the Educational Service Office level, and the School level.
