งานวิจัยนี้ ได้ทำการศึกษาอิทธิพลของความหนาของเคลือบ ZrO2-20 wt.% Y2O3 ที่มีผลต่อความแข็งแรงในการยืดเกาะและความทนทานของเคลือบต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงอุณหภูมิอย่างฉับพลันบนชิ้นงานโลหะชนิด SAE 1020 โดยเคลือบผิวชิ้นงานโลหะด้วยวิธีเปลวความร้อน ซึ่งก่อนเคลือบได้ทำการเตรียมผิวชิ้นงานด้วยการพ่นขัดด้วยผงอะลูมินาขนาด 80 เมช ที่เวลาต่างกันคือ 2, 4, 6, 8 และ 10 นาที แล้วทำการเคลือบผิวด้วย ZrO2-20 wt.% Y2O3 บน NiCrAlY ที่เป็นชั้นประสานเพื่อช่วยเพื่อช่วยเพิ่มการยึดเกาะระหว่าง SAE 1020 กับเคลือบเซอร์โคเนีย-ยิตเทรีย ชิ้นงานที่ผ่านการเคลือบแล้วมาอบอ่อนนาน 2 ชั่วโมง โดยช่วงอุณหภูมิในการอบอ่อนพิจารณาจากอุณหภูมิที่สามารถลดความเครียดสะสมในชั้นผิวเคลือบหลังจากนั้นนำชิ้นงาน SAE 1020 ทรงกลม ที่ผ่านการเคลือบและอบคลายเครียดมาเชื่อมติดกับตัวจับยึดด้วยกาวอีพอกซีเพื่อทดสอบความแข็งแรงในการยึดเกาะของเคลือบ และทดสอบความทนทานของเคลือบต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงอุณหภูมิอย่างฉับพลัน โดยให้ความร้อนที่ 1300 องศาเซลเซียส และลดอุณหภูมิอย่างฉับพลันที่ 25 องศาเซลเซียส จากผลการทดลอง พบว่าชิ้นงานที่ผ่านการพ่นขัดด้วยผงอะลูมินานาน 6 นาทีก่อนเคลือบผิวและความหนาของเคลือบ 0.1 มิลลิเมตร ให้ค่าความแข็งแรงในการยึดเกาะที่ดีที่สุด อุณหภูมิที่เหมาะสมในการอบอ่อนคือ 400 องศาเซลเซียส หลังการอบอ่อนทำให้ค่าความแข็งแรงในการยึดเกาะของเคลือบเพิ่มขึ้นประมาณ 32.5 % แม้ว่าความหนาผิวเคลือบเพิ่มขึ้นทำให้มีความแข็งแรงในการยึดเกาะของเคลือบลดลงแต่ส่งผลให้สมบัติของเคลือบต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงอุณหภูมิอย่างฉับพลันดีที่สุด
The effect of the coating thickness of ZrO2-20 wt.% Y2O3 film on the adhesive strength and thermal shock resistance on carbon steel substrate (SAE 1020) was investigated. This composite film was fabricated by plasma spray on carbon steel surface prepared by grit blasting of 80 mesh Al2O3 with varying time 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 minutes. Before deposition of film, the bond coat of NiCrAlY alloy was applied to improve adherence between SAE 1020 and zirconia-yttria film. After film coatings, they were annealed for 2 hours. The annealing temperatures were selected to release the stress of deposited film on carbon steel. The coated cylindrical specimen was bonded with epoxy glue for the tensile measurement. The thermal shock resistance was determined by heating the specimen at 1300 ํC and rapidly cooled to 25 ํC. The experimental results showed that the optimum adhesive strength of film on the carbon steel could be obtained by Al2O3 blasting for 6 minutes on the substrate and film coating of 0.1 millimeters. The suitable annealing temperature at 400 ํC increased the adhesive strength by 32.5%. Although the thicker film decreased the adhesive strength, it provided the better performance of thermal shock resistance.
