เป็นหนังสือที่มีเนื้อหาเกี่ยวกับประวัติหอพระสมุดวชิรญาณที่เขียนโดยศาสตราจารย์ George Coedes ซึ่งเป็น President ของหอพระสมุดในขณะนั้น ตอนต้นเล่มมีพระบรมฉายาลักษณ์ พระบาทสมเด็จพระมงกุฎเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว (ทรงเป็น President ในช่วงปี 1905-1910) พระ รูปพระเจ้าบรมวงศ์เธอ กรมพระสมมตอมรพันธุ์ (ทรงเป็น President ในช่วงปี 1910-1915) และพระรูปสมเด็จพระเจ้าบรมวงศ์เธอ กรมพระยาดำรงราชานุภาพ(ทรงเป็น President ใน ปี 1915) จากนั้น เป็นเรื่องและภาพของใบลานภาษาบาลีและภาษาไทย(ในหนังสือนี้เรียกว่า ภาษาสยาม) กากะเยีย ไม้ประกับที่สวยงาม ผ้าห่อคัมภีร์ ตู้ลายรดน้ำ หีบพระธรรม ต้นฉบับ ตัวเขียนภาษาไทย (สมุดไท) การพิมพ์หนังสือภาษาไทย ภาษาต่างประเทศ และจารึกต่าง ๆ ในสมัยลพบุรี สุโขทัย ฯลฯ
