South-South in Action: Sustainability in Thailand Experience for Developing Countries
Emphasizes on roles of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICS) – an aid-provider agency under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs- and its implementation of Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej in response to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Explains Thailand’s policy framework and mechanism to deliver South-South cooperation (Thailand – Cambodia – Lao PDR – Myanmar – Viet Nam) and many triangular cooperation models. Exhibits case studies of SEP projects in Thailand and South-South cooperation. Mentions trilateral cooperation between Thailand and a partner to help the third countries, such as TICA and German Agency (GIZ)’s project on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) in Lao, Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya- Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy, and Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle. Explores the correlation between Sufficiency Economy Philosophy and the 2030 Agenda of Sustainable Development Goals with channels to expand the SEP globally.
