Recently, the TIC has extensively used and applied modern technologies for more effective and efficient information service. It has therefore selected the INFOMA, a new system of information storage by using the image processing technique and scanner, to contribute to the productive information retrieval and economical storage of information. The TIC has made use of the INFOMA with certain interesting clipping files which are frequently requested by the users, such as

• ASEAN, and in the future, The centre plan to collect some news clippings mentioning about "AEC" (ASEAN Economic Community),
• APEC,
• The politics and the social conflicts both in Thailand and other countries engaging,
• The economical analysis, condition and change both in Thailand and in Southeast Asia region,
• The society, culture as well as the in-depth information about them in Thailand and neighbor countries,
• Business, investment and statistics, etc.

Using the INFOMA, patrons could retrieve the required information by searching the news headlines and utilizing specified keywords through online access, thereby able to both read and promptly print the original articles as searched. Indeed, this is more efficient and economic system than the previous method of manual retrieval. In the future, the TIC has planned to store the documents in full text, particularly interesting items retrieved from the TIC database. If so, it certainly will be a new step in the further technologicalization of the academic services development.
