ABI/INFORM (Dissertation Listing - Service note) ABI/INFORM, serviced by ProQuest-CSA, is a full-text online database of newspapers and economics, business and management journals. Chulalongkorn University currently subscribes to ABI/INFORM Complete which offers access to nearly 4,000 journals with nearly 3,200 available in full text. It consists of ABI/INFORM Global, ABI/INFORM Trade & Industry, and ABI/INFORM Dateline. Each of these 3 databases covers a different aspect of business information. ABI/INFORM Global (1971-current) covers more than 2,200 current sources, including full-text coverage of over 1,880 titles that provides in-depth coverage of business conditions, trends, corporate strategies and tactics, management techniques, competitive product information, and a wide variety of other business topics. ABI/INFORM Trade & Industry (1971-current) is composed of over 1,120 full-text publications that target specific trades and industries such as telecommunications, computing, transportation, building and construction, petrochemicals, etc. Every major industry is represented in the database. ABI/INFORM Dateline (1985-current) covers hard-to-find local and regional business information for the US and Canada from over 170 full-text business publications. Many journals are "embargoed", i.e. full text for them is not available for the most recent months. It also includes around 1,940 peer-reviewed full-text journals (with over 6,800 peer-reviewed, abstracted and indexed journals), offering critical information from many sources. Academic Search Complete   Academic Search Complete, updated daily and available via EBSCOhost, is a large, interdisciplinary database that abstracts and indexes over 9,300 scholarly and popular periodicals, and full text for more than 5,300 of these. More than 4,400 of the journals are peer-reviewed. Agricultural and Biological Sciences (ScienceDirect Purchased Books) Alternative Press Index (with Archives)  Alternative Press Index, updated quarterly, is a guide to alternative sources of information from 1991- present. Included are citations of 5 or more paragraphs from approximately 300 alternative, radical, and left periodicals, newspapers and magazines, reporting and analyzing the practices and theories of cultural, economic, political and social change. Coverage is in the humanities and social sciences, international and interdisciplinary. Types of articles indexed include editorials, columns, essays, fiction, speeches, interviews, statistics, bibliographies, biographies, obituaries, and media reviews. It also includes abstracts from selected research journals. ASTM Standards & Journals  ASTM Standards & Journals from ASTM Internatinal, originally known as the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), is a new platform of 12,000+ standards and 3 journals on CUNet since mid-June 2007. ASTM publishes standards in multiple subjects in over 130 industry areas covering metals, petroleum, construction, the environment, and more. The types of standards includes: Guides, Practices, Specifications, Terminologies, and Test Methods. Standards developed at ASTM are the work of over 30,000 ASTM members from over 100 countries. This collection of ASTM Standards/Journals, published by World Engineering Xchange, Ltd. (WEX) under agreement with ASTM International, contains PDF format copies of all current ASTM and ISO/ASTM Standards for the exclusive use of institutions who have leased the ASTM Standards/Journals service from WEX. In addition to current ASTM Standards, the service contains listings of withdrawn ASTM Standards as a convenience to its users. This database covers the international scholarly and popular periodical literature, including the publications of professional associations, U.S. state and regional periodicals, and major serial publications in the architecture and design of Europe, Asia, Latin America, and Australia. Also included are specific management-related articles from over 300 additional respected business sources. Full-text is available for approximately 60% of the cited articles. Business Book Summaries  Business Book Summaries (BBS) on EBSCOhost provides concise summaries present the key concepts and relevant business thoughts to people with no time to read the entire book.  BBS includes the following subject areas: Business Biographies, Business Strategy, Customer Satisfaction, Diversity, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Global Business, Human Resources, Innovation, IT/Internet, Leadership, Major Works, Management, Marketing, Personal Growth, Productivity, and Social Responsibility.  All books covered in Business Book Review Library by BBS are summarized by professionals.  The most salient points are extracted and conceptualized into brief, but comprehensive, summaries. CAB Abstracts (Service note)  CAB Abstracts is a bibliographic database compiled by CAB International which evolved from the Commonwealth Agricultural Bureaux (CAB) and its predecessor the Imperial Agricultural Bureaux (IAB). A major strength of CAB Abstracts is its international issues in agriculture, forestry, and allied disciplines in the applied life sciences including animal and crop husbandry, animal and plant breeding, plant protection, genetics, forestry engineering, economics, veterinary medicine, human nutrition, rural development, management and conservation of natural resources. Offering complete coverage of nursing journals and publications from the National League for Nursing (NLN) and the American Nurses' Association (ANA), this database covers nursing, biomedicine, health sciences librarianship, alternative/complementary medicine, consumer health and 17 allied health disciplines. In addition, it also offers access to health care books, nursing dissertations, selected conference proceedings, standards of practice, educational software, audiovisuals and book chapters, as well as Evidence-Based Care Sheets. Searchable cited references for more than 1,160 journals are also included. CINAHL Plus with Full Text provides full text for 336 journals, plus legal cases, clinical innovations, critical paths, drug records, research instruments and clinical trials. Periodica covers over 1,400 journals specializing in science and technology. Clase and Periodica offers access to more than 400,000 bibliographic citations from documents published in 2,600 scholarly journals published in the Spanish, Portuguese, French and English languages. The database contains information from articles, essays, book reviews, monographs, conference proceedings, technical reports, interviews, and brief notes published in journals edited in 24 different countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as from publications that focus on Pan-American issues. ICRG Online  (The International Country Risk Guide) ICRG Online or the online version of the International Country Risk Guide, produced by the PRS Group, provide financial, political and economic risk ratings for 140 countries every month. It comprises 22 variables in three subcategories of risk: political, financial, and economic. A separate index is created for each of the subcategories. The Political Risk index is based on 100 points, Financial Risk on 50 points, and Economic Risk on 50 points. The total points from the three indices are divided by two to produce the weights for inclusion in the composite country risk score. The composite scores, ranging from zero to 100, are then broken into categories from Very Low Risk (80 to 100 points) to Very High Risk (zero to 49.5 points). Each journal has a "moving wall" of 3-5 years after which the current issues are added to JSTOR. It is based on a dictionary network protocol, or a search engine to search many free dictionaries, created by the DICT Development Group at DICT.org. The old home page of Online Dictionary Database Query includes around 40 titles, They are, for example, Free On-line Dictionary of Computing, V.E.R.A, Hitchcock's Bible Names Dictionary, WordNet:, Jargon File, The Devil's Dictionary (1911), Elements database, U.S. Gazetteer (1990), Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary (1913), CIA World Factbook, Easton's 1897 Bible Dictionary, Moby Thesaurus, and the freedict bilingual dictionaries. Oxford Journals Online  Oxford Journals Online, run by Oxford University Press (OUP, covers Life Sciences, Mathematics & Physical Sciences, Medicine, Social Sciences, Humanities, and Law, and include some of the most authoritative journals in their fields. From January 2006, online content for most journals will be available from Volume 1, Issue 1. Pre-1996 content will be available via the Online Archives. Online content from 1996 onwards will be available with current subscriptions. There is a range of Oxford Journal material that users can access online for free. Most of our journals publish abstracts summarizing each article - these abstracts are freely available. UpToDate (Service note)  UpToDate, started in 1989 by Dr. Burton D. Rose along with Dr. Joseph Rush, is now a comprehensive evidence-based clinical information resource, in most internal medicine subspecialties as well as adult primary care, family medicine, ob-gyn, and pediatrics. It is designed to get clinicians the concise, practical answers they need when they need them the most - at the point-of-care. The topics are written by more than 3,300 expert clinicians. The physician editors and authors review and update the content on a continuous basis and a new, peer-reviewed version is issued every four months. There are no page numbers to cite. Since UpToDate is released every four months, each topic will appear in each release, so the publication year for any topic should be the current year. UpToDate is currently part of the clinical practice at many prominent hospitals including: Massachusetts General Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, New York Presbyterian Hospital, Johns Hopkins Hospital, University of Pennsylvania, University of Chicago Hospitals, and many more. WorldCat (WorldCat Beta)  WorldCat on FirstSearch provides access to the world's largest library catalogs from around the world. Created in 1971, WorldCat catalogs the content of more than 50,000 libraries in 90-plus countries.
